Appointing myself the artist-in-residence of Portland’s Washington Park gave new meaning to my sketchbook practice. After I wrote about this idea, artists around the world have embarked on their own unofficial artist residencies. I’ll share examples, along with other ideas that have given me more purpose as a sketchbook artist.
