Storytelling on Location: Character, Sequence and Clear Pages

Workshop description
In this on-location workshop, we will practise visual storytelling by turning a real scene
into a clear, engaging page. You will learn to choose a viewpoint, identify the main
character — a person, action, or object — and build a simple story arc using composition,
value, and selective colour. We’ll begin with fast thumbnails to decide what to include and
what to cut, then move to a finished sketch in ink and watercolor. The goal is clarity over
realism: guiding the eye, suggesting time and movement, and leaving the viewer wanting
the next panel, supported by a short caption made on site.
