Workshop description
Explore the world of maps and mapmaking like never before! You’ll discover how to integrate your personal experience with a particular place using tried-and-true techniques such as “mapping” your art supplies, incorporating maps and map elements in your sketchbook. In this workshop, we’ll explore:
- Maps as collage and design elements
- Maps as on-page graphic elements
- Sources of inspiration for titles, design elements, infographics and other nonstandard maps
- Using new techniques to create a map of your Sketcher Fest experience
Supplies
Basic sketching supplies including:
- Sketchbook (preferably 8×8” or larger) or drawing/watercolor paper
- Pencil, ruler, ink pen, watercolor and brush (or colored pencils/markers)
