International Festival of Travel Sketchbooks

Edmonds, Washington (USA)

Tickets

Important dates

  • Until March 14 (noon PDT): Request window for workshops is open
  • March 21 (noon PDT): General sale opens here on this same page for Sketchbook Fair tickets, Artist Talks Passes, Artists’ Reception tickets and Workshops that have not filled up with requests placed during the Workshop Request Window.

Workshop Request Window

Open now until March 14 (noon PDT)

Because workshops are small (limited to 15 participants) and some fill very quickly, we want to avoid the stress of a race-to-click workshop registration. Instead, we are opening a request window between now and March 14.

Here’s how it works:

  • During this request window, please submit your top workshop choice (and a backup) for the morning block and the afternoon block using the Workshop Request Form.

  • If a workshop has more than 15 requests, names will be selected at random after the window closes. If a workshop does not fill, everyone who requested it will be enrolled.
  • After assignments are made, you’ll receive an email confirmation and payment link. Payment must be received within 48 hours of when the email confirmation is sent or your spot will be released. It’s very important to watch your email carefully starting March 15. The price per workshop is $175.
  • After the request window closes and assignments have been made, workshops with open spots will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Our goal is to give everyone an equal opportunity to attend a workshop while keeping the process calm and thoughtful.

Types of tickets

Sketchbook Fair $25. This ticket is valid to enter the Sketchbook Fair on the ground floor of the Edmonds Waterfront Center and the Sketch Lounge upstairs. To improve the foot traffic, we are offering timed entry tickets. Please plan to arrive at the time you select when you purchase your ticket. Note: This ticket does not include access to Artist Talks upstairs.

Artist Talks Pass $75. This ticket allows you to attend any Artist Talk on the schedule as long as you arrive before room has reached capacity.

Artist Talk Single Ticket $20. You may purchase a ticket for a single Artist Talk at the door if the room has not filled up.

Artists’ Reception $75. This ticket allows you to attend an evening reception at Graphite to welcome all our Guest Artists to Edmonds. This is a catered event. Spots are limited.

Workshops $175. See the “Workshop Request Window” section above for details on how to book a workshop.

Tips to select events

Sketcher Fest offers different types of events so participants can choose their own experience based on interest and time.

The Sketchbook Fair on Sunday is our main event. If you only have time to attend one event or are just curious about the world of sketching, come down to the Edmonds Waterfront Center to meet our guest artists, see their original sketchbooks, buy their books and art prints at the Sketcher Press bookshop and gear up with art supplies from local and national vendors.

If you are more than just curious, we have a great lineup of Artist Talks both days. Topics include drawing technique, storytelling, reportage, travel adventures and more.

Are you interested in improving your drawing skills? Check out our Saturday workshops.

Want to mingle with all the guest artists and ask them questions in an informal setting? The Saturday evening Artists’ Reception at Graphite will be a relaxed and intimate event to cap the first day of the festival.

And to sketch with others in Seattle and Edmonds before, during and after the festival, make sure to follow Urban Sketchers Seattle and Edmonds Sketchers to learn about their planned meetups.
