Line after Time: Dynamic Urban Sketching

Use mixed media to build up a sketch capturing life in a scene across multiple moments. In this workshop, students will learn to harness the innate qualities of mixed media tools to render transient elements in contrast with permanent elements. By using opaque media like acrylic markers in concert with transparent water soluble materials, we will build up layers of texture and detail that combine to capture movement, stories and details the way only a sketch can. This workshop is most suitable for students who are already comfortable with value and perspective basics, and can draw complex subjects on location.
