About the instructor
Mário Linhares
Mário Linhares studied at the Artistic School António Arroio. Having two Graduations – Landscape Design, and Industrial Design – he also holds a Master’s Degree in Visual Arts Education, and he’s in its final stage of his Ph.D. in Drawing. Draws compulsively and idealizes artistic and humanitarian projects since ‘97. Is married, has one son, and draws on the sketchbooks his wife makes. Enjoys walking, cycling, taking public transportation, and discussing ideas with friends. He founded Urban Sketchers Portugal in 2009, joined the International Executive Board in 2011, and was the Education Director of Urban Sketchers until 2019. Recently he played a key role in the 5 Minutes of Drawing project, the Sketch Tour Portugal, and the USkTalks. Currently, he is a Drawing Professor in Lisbon, does lectures worldwide and leads the Zambujal 360, a social and artistic project in Lisbon. Co-author of the awarded travel book: Carnet de Voyage | Côte d’Ivoire (2014), he contributes to different books and exhibitions. He also published Panoramas and Vertical Vistas (2021) and Lisboa Moderna (2021). Travel and drawing are the two preferred things to do. @linhares.mr
